A stream in Yellowstone National Park shows smooth reflections of the Canyon Pack wolf members. This is a small pack (3 to 4 adult members) of wolves which claims its territory in the center of Yelowstone Park near the Canyon Village visitor center. This pack has one adult female wolf and three adult males. The black wolf, while often stand offish and apart from the other wolves, is usually considered to be the alpha male and in a pair bond with the female. The white female wolf in the upper pictures is difficult to tell apart from her pup but if you look closely the pup has more color on his face along with longer hair and shorter legs. The playful wolf pup picks up and carries a piece of broken ice while walking on a log. These wolves were taking a break from harassing a Grizzly Bear which had stolen and was guarding the remains of a bull elk kill the wolves had made earlier.
